Otis Rhoton

Otis Rhoton brings decades of professional experience and deep local roots to his work as a State Farm agent in Gate City, VA. A graduate of Rye Cove High School, Otis continued his education at Hiwassee College and East Tennessee State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1967 and completing graduate studies at ETSU with a Master of Sciences in 1969. His educational path, combined with a strong desire to give back to his hometown, shaped a career grounded in service and long‐standing community involvement.Before entering the insurance industry, Otis devoted many years to education in Scott County, serving as a teacher, coach, and school administrator. That commitment to students, families, and community growth extended beyond the classroom through his service on the Gate City Town Council, where he contributed to local leadership and civic engagement.

Since 1981, Otis Rhoton has been a licensed State Farm agent in both Virginia and Tennessee, assisting customers with Auto, Home, Renters, and Life insurance, as well as coverage for Small Business, Commercial Auto, and Personal Liability needs. Over more than four decades, he has helped individuals, families, and business owners prepare for everyday risks while protecting what matters most to them.

Family has always remained central to Otis’s life. He and his wife Connie recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and he is proud of his children, Nick and Mandy.
