"I would like married couples to be aware that Otis Rhoton's office in Gate City, Virginia, removed my name from a home owners policy for a home that I own, along with my husband, John Redwine, just because he asked them to. My husband, John Redwine, also never asked or told me this was his plan. They NEVER contacted me to ask if I wanted to be removed or made any move to ensure that it should be done. We have had this insurance policy for nearly 33 years and I am an owner to the property. When I called to verify that they had done this, KC in his office informed me that because he was first named insured he could do that. They also removed me from the joint policies of car insurance without my knowledge or agreement. What they did was left me 100% open to any liability personally without insurance and again without my permission. So spouses, BEWARE, that Otis Rhoton or KC in his office, is willing to remove you from a policy in which you are an owner, and you may never know it until it is too late. If I had not kept up with my business, my husband would have had his way leaving me 100% open to liability. This is wrong and the laws should be changed in Virginia so that one spouse cannot do that to the other spouse without permission! I have never had problems with my State Farm Agent, but if they are willing to do this without my permission, what else could they do?"

The one time someone did; she took my information and sent me an email, including nothing but the calculated value of my home. There was no quote, no information how to contact her back, no instructions on how to follow up or purchase, and it didn't come from an official state farm email. When she asked me questions about my home; she didn't even have basic knowledge about homes or the materials used to construct.
